IMPACT- (Special Education Parent Advisory Group)

Per state code every school district must have a Special Education Advisory Group to allow parents to “provide input to the district on issues concerning children with disabilities” (NJ code 6A:14-1.2(h). Shamong Township Schools parent group is called “IMPACT”, which stands for “Indian Mills Parent Advisory Committed Team”. This group is lead by volunteers and allows for parents to network, ask questions and provide input to the district. It is an inclusive group open to ALL parents who have concerns about their children’s learning and development no matter how small or large. The Director of Pupil Personnel Services serves as an active member.
